The Marangoni effect caused by surface tension gradient during the drying process of coatings is the core factor leading to defects such as shrinkage and orange peel. Tech-2733, as a new generation of polyether modified silicone leveling agent, establishes a precise balance between rapid migration and compatibility through its unique molecular conformation, making it an excellent additive for solving the problem of multi system leveling

1. Migration dynamics and surface tension regulation
The essence of leveling agents is to achieve uniform spreading by migrating to the surface of the paint film, eliminating surface tension gradients. Through in-depth analysis of leveling dynamics: why is organosilicon more suitable for short wave leveling ?

① Quantitative comparison of migration speed
Research has shown that the migration rate of organic silicon leveling agents in solvent based systems (≥ 10 ⁻⁶ cm ²/s) is over 100 times that of acrylic esters (≈ 10 ⁻⁸ cm ²/s). Tech-2733 maintains the aforementioned migration rate in aqueous systems due to the polarity adaptability provided by polyether modification.

② Inhibition mechanism of Bernal vortex
During the initial drying stage of the paint film, solvent evaporation leads to local temperature/concentration differences, resulting in a surface tension difference (Δγ). Tech-2733 can cover the interface within 5-15 seconds, reducing Δ γ from>5 mN/m to<0.5 mN/m and suppressing vortex formation.

2. Structure performance correlation
① Synergistic effect of silicon content and molecular weight
The performance core of Tech-2733 comes from its polyether modified silicone oil structure, and its key parameters have the following impact on performance:

Tech-2733 achieves rapid migration and coverage of defects through silicon content design, reducing substrate wetting tension, polar polyether chains to minimize siloxane residue, and reducing the risk of bubbles in water-based systems

Balancing anti shrinkage and compatibility :
Designing with silicon content and structural advantages to form critical compatibility and achieve high efficiency in trace amounts
Polyether segment design: Block polyethers (such as EPE type: PO-EO-PO) are used, with hydrophobic PO segments exposed on the outside of micelles or interfaces, forming local hydrophobic regions that interfere with the orderly arrangement of water molecules, creating micro voids in the liquid film and accelerating rupture. Reduce the tendency to stabilize bubbles while ensuring the hydrogen bonding strength of the aqueous system

3. Tech-2733 challenges international competitors
①  Plate surface leveling effect
Test conditions: Using ISO 13076 standard, in a water-based amino baking paint system, Tech-2733 compared with international competitors, with a leveling agent addition of 0.4%, sprayed in a 25 ℃/50% RH environment. Sample condition :

【Left 】International competitors                   【Right】TECH-2733

② Comparison of Bubble Stability
Test conditions: In six resin systems, Tech-2733 was compared with international competitors, with a leveling agent addition of 0.3%. The mixture was shaken thoroughly for 15 minutes and left to stand for 5 minutes at 25 ℃ before being photographed and recorded

(★ The more, the stronger the stable foam)

Conclusion :
Compared with international competitors, Tech-2733 has consistent foam stability in most aqueous systems, but lower stability in some systems

3. Compatibility Comparison
Among the six resin systems, Tech-2733 was compared with international competitors, with a leveling agent addition of 0.3% and a temperature of 25 ℃. After sufficient shaking for 15 minutes and standing for 5 minutes, photos were taken and recorded. After standing until there were no bubbles, photos were taken and recorded

(★ The more, the better the compatibility)

Tech-2733 has excellent compatibility among various resins, consistent with international competitors. Greatly avoiding the shrinkage and fogging caused by excessive addition of leveling agent itself

4. Practice Guide for Multi System Applications

High gloss topcoat : Tech-2733 (0.2%)+acrylic leveling agent (0.3% Tech-181w), balancing short wave and long wave leveling
Metal base paint : Tech-2733 (0.3%)+fluorocarbon modified leveling agent (0.2% Tech-2843), enhances aluminum powder orientation and anti shrinkage properties.

5. Summary
Tech-2733 has achieved a breakthrough in the core contradiction (compatibility vs. surface activity) of organic silicon leveling agents through precise regulation of molecular structure, becoming a high-performance solution for multiple systems. Its excellent leveling properties, low foam stability, strong anti shrinkage properties, and no impact on recoating make it particularly suitable for the industrial demand of environmentally friendly coatings. When selecting technology, it is necessary to consider system polarity, drying speed, and surface requirements
