Tech-5041 Polymeric Hyperdispersant
Tech-5041 is a polymeric hyperdispersant featuring multiple pigment-affinic groups and various pigment-adsorbing groups. It offers excellent wetting and dispersion for both organic and inorganic pigments, and is especially suited for systems where organic and inorganic pigments are ground together. It provides strong anti-flocculation and anti-floating/anti-flooding performance; milled single-pigment pastes resist color float during tinting.
Composition
Modified polyamide polymer containing pigment-affinic groups
Appearance
Brown-yellow transparent solution
Solvent
Mixed dibasic ester (DBE)
Active Content
50%

Features
• Tech-5041 offers broad versatility across various coating systems. It provides excellent dispersion for both inorganic and organic pigments, making it ideal for combined organic/inorganic pigment grinding.
• As a polymeric hyperdispersant, Tech-5041 delivers superior dispersion stability. Compared with low-molecular-weight wetting dispersants, it effectively prevents re-agglomeration and settling.
• In coatings, Tech-5041 reduces grinding time while enhancing film gloss and tinting strength

Recommended Systems & Dosage
• Tech-5041 is suitable for a wide range of systems and pigment types — a highly universal hyperdispersant

Dosage varies by system :
Titanium dioxide: 2%–4%
Inorganic pigments: 3%–5%
Organic pigments: 20%–40%
Carbon black: 30%–100%

viscosity reduction
Reducing viscosity of ground titanium dioxide powder

Viscosity reduction for grinding iron oxide red

Viscosity reduction for grinding carbon black

Viscosity reduction for grinding F5RK red

Color Development / Color Show Property
996 Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂)
When dispersing 996 titanium dioxide,
Tech-5041 shows little difference from the competitor in hiding power (opacity/covering power), whiteness, and gloss

Dispersion of Iron Oxide Red Powder
Tech-5041 exhibits better color development than the competitor.

Dispersion of MA100 Carbon Black
Tech-5041 demonstrates better tinting strength / color development than the competitor when dispersing MA100 carbon black.

F5RK Red Dispersion
Tech-5041 exhibits better color development than the competitor

Experimental Summary
Tech-5041 gives great viscosity cut and tinting strength across inorganic and organic pigments alike — an exceptionally cost-efficient oil-based hyperdispersant
