Our solvent-based coating does not wet tinplate well, so we need a wetting agent that can be added later and does not need to comply with FDA regulations. Do you have any recommendations?

To resolve substrate wetting issues, the surface tension of the coating must be reduced. There are two viable approaches: a) Silicone: Try Tech-233A or Tech-2733, which can significantly reduce surface tension; the recommended addition rate is 0.1–0.2% (based on the purchased form relative to the total formulation). Other silicone products may also be used. b) Non-silicone: Tech-1399 is a polymer-based leveling agent that can slightly reduce surface tension; this is generally sufficient to resolve substrate wetting issues. Add 0.3–0.5% (based on the purchased form relative to the total formulation).
We are looking for a dispersant that can stabilize titanium dioxide at high temperatures, is resistant to yellowing, and maintains consistent viscosity and fineness.

We recommend Tech-5366, a super-dispersant that maintains excellent stability under high-temperature conditions. It is particularly effective at coating the surfaces of inorganic powder pigments and resists yellowing at high temperatures.
I need a suitable defoamer for one of our asphalt emulsion-based construction products.

Reply: Highly effective defoamers often cause phase separation in polyurethane adhesive systems. Unfortunately, defoamers with better compatibility do not sufficiently reduce air content, resulting in reduced flowability. It is recommended to use the liquid defoamer Tech-462F in polyols.
How can the flowability of a three-component epoxy grout formulation be improved?

In addition to the binder used, flow characteristics may depend on the wettability of the aggregates/fillers, but also on the air content. We recommend using Tech-5076 as a wetting and dispersing additive, which can further improve the system’s flowability.
The mortar we produce contains: calcium carbonate filler + acrylic dispersion + water. This material is cast into silicone molds. I need an additive to improve the system’s flowability.

Tech-6199 is a VOC-free wetting and dispersing agent used in water-based coatings and adhesives, as well as in pigment concentrates containing organic and inorganic pigments and fillers.

Tech-29801-2 is a silane-silicone hybrid emulsion that can be used as a waterproofing agent for cement mortar. It can also be diluted and applied directly to the surfaces of substrates such as cement and stone, or added as an additive to water-based coatings to provide excellent waterproofing performance.
We have a low-PVC water-based system and would like to improve its stain resistance and scrub resistance. Are there any additives that can enhance these properties?

Reply: Tech-2778 is a polymeric silicone additive that migrates to the top layer of the surface, improving the system’s leveling and slipperiness. As a result, dust cannot adhere to the surface, and mechanical stress is reduced, allowing any object to glide effortlessly across it.
