Our product portfolio is increasingly shifting toward VOC-free coatings. We need an additive for common formulations that provides good substrate wetting on solid wood substrates, primers, or existing
Application:Polymer
Reply: Tech-2849N is a silicone-based surfactant designed for VOC-free systems. It offers the advantages of highly effective spreading, wetting, and leveling. It is characterized by a significant reduction in surface tension combined with a very low tendency to foam.
We are looking for a wetting and dispersing agent for an aromatic-free, high-solids alkyd system to achieve a high gloss finish.
Application:Polymer

Tech-541 is a 100% solvent-free product. Additives prevent pigment flocculation through spatial stabilization. Because the anti-flocculated pigments have a small particle size, they provide high gloss and enhance color intensity. Transparency and hiding power are also improved, while viscosity is reduced. This product can be used as a standalone product or as a component in formulations. Recommended additive levels based on the type of pigment: Inorganic pigments: 3–5%; Titanium dioxide: 0.8–1.5%; Organic pigments: 5–8%; Carbon black: 8–10%.
We are developing water-based paints. In most cases, we tint the white base coat with color paste, but sometimes we need to use iron oxide pigments. Which dispersant is most suitable?
Application:Polymer
Reply:
Tech-6199 provides strong viscosity-reducing properties and good pigment wetting in grinding pastes. White paints formulated with it offer excellent tinting flexibility, even when mixed with general-purpose color pastes. It can be used with iron oxide pigments and is also suitable for transparent iron oxide pigments.
We are investigating Newtonian flow characteristics in aqueous systems.

Tech-9044 and Tech-9046 are both associative polyurethane thickeners that produce Newtonian flow behavior. Both products increase viscosity under high shear conditions, while their effect under low shear conditions is minimal. These additives are liquid and therefore easy to handle. No pH adjustment or temperature control is required during incorporation. Recommended Levels: Add 1.0–4.0% of the additive (based on the supplied specification) to the total formulation, depending on the desired formulation performance. The above recommended levels are provided as a guideline. The optimal level can be determined through a series of laboratory tests.
We are currently manufacturing various water-based coating systems. These systems are post-tinted, and in several of them, the viscosity drops sharply.

Tech-9042 significantly increases viscosity in the low-shear range, stabilizes viscosity when colorants are added, and improves tintability. It provides excellent sag resistance and good leveling. The additive is liquid and, due to its composition, is highly compatible with the system, making it easy to incorporate and process. Sag tendency and storage stability are improved. No pH adjustment or temperature control is required during incorporation. Optimal processing performance is achieved when used in combination with rheological additives effective in the high-shear range. Recommended usage level: Add 0.1–1.5% of the additive (based on the supplied specification) to the total formulation, depending on the desired formulation performance. In special cases, the dosage may be increased to 2%. The above recommended levels are provided as a guideline. The optimal level can be determined through a series of laboratory tests.
We are looking for water-based wall paints with better splash resistance.
Application:Polymer

Our high-shear thickeners, Tech-9044 and Tech-9046, reduce splashing during application. They enable greater coating thickness and provide an excellent balance between flow characteristics and leveling properties. These additives are liquid, making them easy to handle. There is no need to adjust the pH or control the temperature during incorporation. Optimal processing performance is achieved when used in combination with rheological additives effective in the low-shear range. Recommended dosage: Add 1.0–4.0% of the additive (based on the supplied specification) to the total formulation, depending on the desired formulation performance. The above recommended dosage serves as a guideline. The optimal dosage can be determined through a series of laboratory tests.
We are looking for a high-shear thickener with a high ICI value in water-based systems.
Application:Polymer

Our high-shear thickeners, Tech-9044 and Tech-9046, increase viscosity within a high-shear range while having minimal effect at low shear rates. These products improve processing performance, enabling greater coating thickness and an excellent balance between flow and leveling. As liquid additives, they are easy to handle. No pH adjustment or temperature control is required during incorporation. Recommended usage levels: Add 1.0–4.0% of the additive (based on the supplied specification) to the total formulation, depending on the desired formulation performance. The above recommended levels are provided as a guideline. The optimal level can be determined through a series of laboratory tests.

Compared to other conventional wetting and dispersing additives, Tech-6013 offers superior performance in dispersing both untreated and treated silica matting agents in water-based systems. The recommended additive dosage is 5.0–10.0% (solid-to-solid) of the matting agent.
